Board Leadership

Dr. Abdur R. Sikder, PhD is President of Muslim Democrats & Friends, providing leadership grounded in civic engagement, democratic values, and community empowerment. An educator and scholar with international academic experience across Bangladesh, Singapore, New Zealand, and Australia, he earned his PhD from the University of Sydney, with doctoral research conducted in part at the University of California, San Diego (UC San Diego), and holds an MBA from Lincoln University California.

In his role, Dr. Sikder works to advance political participation, voter education, and coalition-building that amplifies Muslim voices within the democratic process. He also serves in higher education in the United States, including at San Francisco State University and San Francisco Bay University, and is committed to inclusive leadership and strengthening democratic institutions through education and service.

Dr. Rubina Inamdar is a physician and community advocate dedicated to public service, health equity, and civic leadership. As Vice President, she plays a vital role in strategic planning and community outreach initiatives.

Her work emphasizes inclusive leadership, empowering women and youth, and ensuring that public policy reflects compassion, justice, and community wellbeing.

Tariq Gill serves as Secretary, overseeing organizational governance, communications, and record-keeping. He brings a strong background in administration and policy coordination.

His work ensures transparency, accountability, and effective internal operations that allow Muslim Dems & Friends to fulfill its mission with integrity and professionalism.
